MARLENE C. WILLIAMS, MT-BC

Marlene C. Williams, Music Therapist Marlene C. Williams, MT-BC brings a wealth of music therapy expertise to MusicWorks. She has over eighteen years experience in the clinical practice of music therapy including positions held at Philadelphia State Hospital, Norristown State Hospital, Settlement Music School and Variety Club Camps. Marlene’s work has influenced many diverse populations ranging in age from young children to seniors.

Marlene is an accomplished music therapist, keyboard player, organist, teacher and choir director. Her music education background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA; with advanced studies at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, Settlement Music School in Philadelphia, PA; and private studies with Harry W. Grier on organ. Marlene is a Board Certified Music Therapist.

As a music teacher, Marlene has provided educational services to students at Settlement Music School, Newtown Friends School, Jenkintown Music School, and many YMCA and YWCA camps. She also offers lessons to private students.

As an organist and choir director, Marlene has shared her talents at Macalester-Torresdale Presbyterian Church and Rhawnhurst Presbyterian Church both located in Philadelphia, PA, the Interdenominational Chapel at Norristown State Hospital and various area churches as a guest performer and director. She is currently the Director of Music at Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Marlene performs as a soloist and ensemble player in churches, synagogues, schools, hospitals, colleges, festivals and various private events in the tri-state area (Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware) and the states of New York, Illinois and Colorado. She holds and maintains local and national memberships with the American Guild of Organists, the Music Teachers National Organization and the American Music Therapy Association.

As a member of the MusicWorks team, Marlene serves consumers in the eastern Montgomery County area. MusicWorks is very proud to have the talents and skill of Marlene Williams servicing our growing client base.
